キャンメイク Canmake High Cover Pressed Powder claims to be a powder that eliminates the need for foundation. It banishes shine, but won’t dry your skin as it has a skin friendly formulation. It prevents that awful dullness that tends to develop in the evening. It is free from tar-based pigments, minerals, alcohol, fragrance and ultra violet absorbers. It contains beauty essences like arbutin, collagen, aramide, lipidure, olive, squalance, cameliasinensis leaf extract and more for skin nourishment. It also has SPF 25 PA++ for protection against harmful UV rays. Additionally, it contains ultra fine pearl particles for a naturally alluring impression. It claims to provide coverage like you have never experienced before! Now coming to the most important part, i.e. packaging! Packaging is cute and girly with a golden bow, something you would love to show off to your friends. It is quite handy and compact, easy to carry around in your makeup bag. It comes with a cute puff to apply, which is really convenient. It is quite sturdy as well, it fell from my hand but it didn’t get damaged. It retails for about 940 yen or $10 for 10 gm of product in Japan. It is easily available on all Asian cosmetics websites. It comes in two textures – Pearl type that controls shine and gives a soft and cool impression. Pearl type also gives you a sophisticated sheen, leaves your skin with a natural pearl like luster. However, I have the Matte Type – 02 shade which is the darker one. Matte type contains ultra fine particles and gives a natural alluring impression, it cuts shine and gives a soft matte finish, leaves with you a marshmallow – soft like skin. This is what Canmake claims – don’t ask me how marshmallow skin looks like! It does provide high coverage. I use it on my BB cream to give extra coverage but I can totally wear it on its own too and go foundation less. It covers my pores well, so I can skip a primer too. It stays on for a good 5-6 hours on me without making me too oily. After that I need to use a blotting powder to remove that extra shine. Overall it is a good product over a foundation or just on its own. I don’t feel like it has added anything to my skin, but it does its job of a high coverage powder well. Also, I think that it doesn’t make my face look dry or dull after a full day at work. Worth giving it a try!
