Be it skinny, mom, boyfriend or cropped, ripped jeans or distressed jeans are the hot new denim trend here to stay. Fashionistas and celebrities alike have been wearing this awesome look in their daily lives leading to this trend being the hottest street fashion trend of 2015-2016. This look is very popular amongst those fashion forward creative women willing to combine casual and sophisticated separates to achieve one awesome street style look.

They’re awesome for adding a little bit of cool edge to your style. Just because your jeans have holes doesn’t mean they can’t be sophisticated – It’s really about how you style them. The key to carry off this trend is to balance out the look, so if your jeans have multiple or large rips you should keep the rest of your outfit simple to avoid over-cluttering your silhouette. You can create chic outfits with distressed jeans by cross-mixing with other styles such as a feminine blouse , or a basic tee for a casual look or a button down shirt to look classy. You can also bring your distressed jeans to new glamour levels when you pair them with a pointed pumps. I love the way they look with a bit of knee-exposed-skin out there, especially when styled with something more polished like stiletto heels and blazer or something more daring like a leather jacket, here. You can also layer your ripped jeans with an oversized sweater to remain bundled up with a hint of skin showing, like I have done in this outfit. I have tried to bring the outfit together with a pair of cute sneakers, to look chic yet be comfortable.

If you still don’t agree with me and are in two minds about this trend, check Wikipedia for yourself. It says ”Ripped jeans are jeans with rips, often on the knees. They were popular in the late 1980s during the hard rock/heavy metal era and in the 1990s and 2000s during the grunge era, being worn by grunge artists such as Kurt Cobain. Worn and ripped jeans remain popular, coming back in style in the early 2010s, but sometimes introduced as distressed.” It is not usual that a fashion trend finds a place in Wikipedia after all!!
