Welcome back to my blog! I have been away for a while, more than a month to be exact. Actually I was on my annual Indian holiday which I take around this time of the year. And on my vacation I like to take it really slow, sleep lots and stay away from all forms of social media, be it blogging, Facebook or Instagram. Don’t get me wrong, I am totally in love with social media and feel that it is the best invention ever, but I feel sometimes it is an unnecessary pressure to update daily, worry about the number of likes and if people are actually leaving comments or not! For me holiday means an easy time not doing anything. Although I had planned to be fully dedicated to Instagram and Facebook, I couldn’t get myself to update my account regularly. And who can blame me! Firstly, there were so many festivals, shopping, eating and checking out all the new malls and restaurants in Delhi! All this followed by falling sick for a few days owing to heavy smog and pollution. But the cherry on the cake was the demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. I think it is a very brave step taken by him to curb corruption, black money hoarding and terrorism. However, it left me with no cash to frequent my usual hangouts such as Janpath and Delhi Haat for traditional Indian stuff. But this is very miniscule compared to what problems and issues others might be facing now and in the grand scheme of things. All this gives me another reason to visit India soon, a better India hopefully!
