It is ritual for me to visit the Fabindia store in Khan Market every time I am in Delhi. I got Fabindia Charcoal Face Scrub almost a year ago but started using it just recently. I had heard a lot about the benefits of charcoal for skin and when I saw this at Fabindia I decided to pick it up. And boy! Am I glad! Fabindia claims, “Charcoal is well-known for its ability to absorb impurities from the skin. This face scrub effectively removes dirt and excess oil from the skin and gently exfoliates it.” Activated charcoal helps in absorbing the most stringent of poisons and dirt and stings. It removes dead cells and keeps the skin fresh and rejuvenated. This pack uses multani mitti as its base which absorbs oil and dirt from the pores, leaving skin cleaner and healthier. Price – Rs. 250/- for 100ml (94gm) I think the quantity of the product provided against the price charged is really reasonable. Only a little quantity is required for each application and it can also be used as a face mask. Packaging – This scrub comes in regular Fabindia tub packaging. The charcoal range has a beautiful red, black and white traditional motif design which is pretty unique. There is a protective lid inside the outer lid which prevents the product from drying up. There is no spoon or spatula provided with the face scrub which is a bummer though. Smell – It has a distinct lemony smell owing to lemon grass in it, which is quite refreshing. Shelf life – Best before 36 months from date of manufacture Consistency – This scrub contains walnut granules in a smooth base with charcoal. There are mini granules which are meant for the scrubbing. This can be used as an everyday mild scrub, owing to its small scrubbing particles. It is deep grayish black in color. The texture is a thick and buttery, but does not leaves a greasy film on the skin. You can use it on wet skin or dry skin, it performs equally well. At times I apply it as a mask over my face and neck and let it to work for 10-15 minutes before washing, just to ensure that charcoal is working on my skin. The tiny granules are soft and break down and dissolve into the scrub while massaging. It gives a healthy glow and brightens my skin by effectively removing dead cells. Charcoal cleanses and detoxifies from within, removing the excess oil, sebum, makeup & dirt. Fabindia’s Charcoal Face Scrub leaves the skin really soft & supple It doesn’t dry you up or make you reach for a moisturizer. It works for all skin types and also works wonderfully as an everyday scrub. It does not irritate flaky or sensitive skin. Overall, this is a decent face scrub that does what it claims and gives me a clear healthy looking skin. Don’t expect any magical results and you will not be disappointed! I like this scrub from Fabindia a lot, however, I like this one better. The only negative part which I can think about this Fabindia scrub is that it contains many chemicals.
