I am Trouble by KC is a Delhi based fashion label designing bright bold clothing, footwear and accessories for men and women. Their collection is notoriously colourful, bold and always with an element of weirdness. Their design philosophy is not trend driven but focused on unique directional vision referencing high street clothing and youth troublesome nostalgia. The brand focuses on minimal and contemporary style. Their clothes incorporate clean cuts, simple silhouettes, interesting details and edgy concepts. The colors used are mainly neutrals such as blacks, whites and grays, lots of monotone with some attention-grabbing neons thrown in. And who is unaware of the magic that monochrome creates? Monochromatic outfits always look chic and polished, making a big impact. I got a chance to collaborate with them when I was in Delhi in November. I visited their studio and selected this cool dress with zip details and loose fit. They had it in a lighter fabric which would be perfect for summer but as I want to wear it in Japan and it is freezing here, I asked them to personalize this dress for me. They made this dress in this beautiful denim fabric with sheen – simple yet stand out! After all, the details and specifically, the fabric used make any garment great! I can already think up of so many other ways of styling this dress and I know it’s going to be my new closet favourite this season! The new season’s key look is all about squares, geometric shapes, right angles and lines. The important factors of that are fun, comfort and unique shapes, It’s basically the end of the curve. It is cold here so I layered it with a black high neck sweater, however it can be worn as an off shoulder dress too. I just love the laid-back glamour, it feels great to wear loose, drapey clothes that don’t hug the body. In warmer weather, looser fitting clothes generally feel great and when it gets cold out you can layer underneath them. This understated impact of high street clothing combined with youth troublesome nostalgia is what I am Trouble by KC is all about!
