Maybelline メイベリン Volum’ Express the Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara Review April 26, 2014 Maybelline メイベリン really amazes me!! Everytime I visit a drug store I see a new version of Volum’ Express. I am not complaining with all the choices available..but with so many choices it can be confusing some times. Maybelline Volum’ Express the Colossal Cat Eyes mascara has collagen formula and claw brush. Maybelline claims that “Lush collagen formula and claw brush fill out lashes upto 8X volume with fabulous cat-like corner instantly. It’s wild.” This claim is some what true. There is a choice between washable and waterproof. But it is available in just one colour- Glam Black. I bought it for 7 $ on sale but it is actually for 13 $ in the drug stores here in Japan. It comes in a cute yellow packaging with orange leopard print. It is a nice formula neither too dry nor too wet. It gives length as well as little thickness. It is a buildable mascara. So if I want volume I just apply 2-3 coats of this product. It can easily take from a natural look to a dramatic one. It doesn’t get clumpy even after 3 coats. It doesn’t flake or smudge on me. The curve shaped brush helps in accentuating the outer lashes.The bristles are short and stiff. It helps to straighten the lashes and as it is small it easily reaches the corners and the lower lashes. The bristles on the wand are very spiky that allow “no clump effect”. And yeah be careful as it does poke your eyes if you are in a hurry. I have the waterproof variation, but it easily comes off with make-up removing oil or just a little face wash and water. Overall it a great mascara and I love it. But this is basically a lengthening mascara so if you have sparse lashes and you are looking for mega volume then it is not for you.
