I was given DHC deep cleansing oil ( DHC 薬用ディープクレンジングオイル ) by a friend who recently started the oil cleansing method (a way of cleansing your face using only oils / no face wash ). I was doing the oil cleansing with canola oil + olive oil but that broke me out badly..so then I changed to this light oil from DHC. It is the most famous product of DHC all over the world.I have used this before so I am pretty used to light cleansing oils. For those who are beginners using oils can be a little tricky so I recommend sticking to special cleansing oils like the ones from DHC, Shu Umera or MAC. Oils are great for winter as they don’t dry the skin.

Now first lets talk about the packaging..Well the packaging of DHC deep cleansing oil is pretty basic and boring!! But the one I have is a limited edition bottle for sale in Japan only. It can not be cuter with a picture of Daisy Duck on it. There is a pump which is the icing on the cake!!

I remove my make up with this. Generally a pump is too less for me so I take 2 pumps of this oil in my dry hands. And then I massage this oil on my dry face for a minute or two. It dissolves the make-up even the most stubborn mascara and eye liner easily. You don’t need to rub a lot but be careful with the eyes. Then I clean it with a cotton pad (but that is completely optional ), you can just wash it with water. It emulsifies with water and comes off easily. I follow it with a face wash for that extra squeaky clean feeling..but that is not required. Although it is an oil it rinses off easily without leaving an oily film on the face.

It is a thin oil and contains olive oil, rosemary leaf oil and vitamin E. It is paraben free and smells faintly of olive oil and rosemary. Although it is an oil it isn’t sticky or oily.

It removes even the last traces of make-up and is one of the best cleansing oils around . But it takes a lot of product to remove the make-up. Also it is expensive at 6 $ for a 70 ml bottle. Also it is supposed to clear up and minimize the pores but I haven’t seen that yet. Will I purchase it again?? Sure!! If I have some extra cash and wanna splurge..
