As far as I remember I have always used Revlon Touch & Glow compact powders. I stock up during my India visits and they last me for a long time. But recently I had to re-purchase a compact and when I went to a drug store (Matsumoto Kiyoshi) here in Japan I realised most of the brands(including international ones like Revlon & Maybelline) have separate cases and re-fills of compacts to fit in those cases. Now this is a very good thing as it’s economical. But it’s a nightmare for a blogger!! I don’t wanna be stuck with a case and just keep on getting re-fills. How the hell will I review new products then!! And moreover re-fills are for hand washes!!

Enters my HERO – Etude House. There are so many choices (by so many I mean 3 or 4) and no cases or re-fills!! So I bought this Etude House Secret Beam Powder Pact for 13$.

The product claims to add a healthy sparkle to skin tone with high lustre satin pearl look. It has superior oil shine control with little glitterings. Looks fresh with pearl highlighting coverage and silk finish.

The packaging is adorable with a pinkish-purplish case of 16 gms with an art nouveau design. It comes with a soft sponge applicator which is nothing special. But what I like is that it has a nice mirror. It is available in two shades #1 Light pearl beige and #2 Natural pearl beige. I have the second one as it’s the darker one.

It has a fine shimmer and it gives a silky finish. I use it to set my foundation, bb creams and sunscreen. It just disappears and blends naturally with the skin tone.

I prefer compacts with a little coverage and I am glad that this one gives some coverage. It has a smooth porcelain finish. It leaves shimmering effect. Also it smells amazing (I like my make up to smell good too). It has a decent oil control, although I need to re-touch after 3-4 hours.

I have been using this for a while without any break-outs. I would definitely recommend it if you prefer dewy finish than matt one!!
