Lingua World Café – what can I say, it’s my new favorite hang out place to unwind after work or just kick back, relax and find inspiration for my blog.

When I was in Dubai, I loved to dress casually on lazy weekends and visit numerous cafes, each with its unique character & relaxed atmosphere. That’s something I missed, coz here in Japan, most of the cafes are too small and crammed, this makes having a conversation or reading a book peacefully – quite difficult, sometimes even a bit stressful.

Not so at the Lingua World Café – with more than ample space, abundant use of wood and a separate kids corner, creating a very warm & homely atmosphere, it is perfect for as I said finishing your office work or just a catch up session with your girl gang. And should some of the gang members decide to bring their brood – their kids area will keep the little ones occupied, especially with events such as kids English story telling etc.  As for the adults, they too can enjoy the events and exhibitions held here regularly, like the last time I went there, they had paintings from an upcoming Japanese artist on display.

Now to the most important part – food & drink – they specialize in Canadian Food, draft beer and beer on tap. Honestly, I am not a beer lover but they have so many varieties of beer, so I could find a mild one for myself that I liked. I had never tried Canadian food before and now that I have, I just can’t have enough of their Pork and Blue sandwich, which has slices of pork and red onion cooked with maple syrup, topped with blue cheese. It is served with yoghurt and a choice of soup or chips. Another contender for my favorite is their freshly baked banana bread and muffins. I love everything sweet especially when it is fresh out of oven – impossible for me to resist. Another dish I would recommend is Poutine, a Canadian dish with french-fried potatoes, beef gravy and squeaky cheese curds.

Do give Lingua World Café a try – you’d probably see me there gorging on the sandwiches and poutine, washing them down with mildly flavored beer.
P.S. Feel free to thank me later!
