On our last day in Taipei, weather was clear and sunny so after breakfast we went to the observation deck on the top most floor of Taipei 101. The view was great and it was amazing to see the city from that height. Also what amazed me was the steel pendulum; suspended from the 92nd to the 87th floor, the pendulum sways to offset movements in the building caused by strong gusts. Taipei 101 is designed to withstand the typhoon winds and earthquake tremors common in its area of the Asia-Pacific. There are many shops at the entrance and we bought omiyage (お土産) from the Taipei 101 gift shop. We had planned to go to the Modern Toilet restaurant but sadly they don’t take reservation during the weekends. So we went there for lunch anyways but the waiting time was almost 2 hours and we had a flight back to Osaka; so we had to let go of this opportunity. But we saw a TGIF and went there for lunch instead. It was also nice as there was no TGIF in Osaka that time(one opened recently though at Universal Studios). We had quesadilla and truffle pasta with some nice mocktails to go with. After that we returned back to the hotel, clicked some pictures outside the hotel, checked out and waved Taipei a final goodbye!!
