I clicked these pictures for the purpose of blogging but was apprehensive about posting my pictures in a saree. For those who don’t know saree is a strip of unstitched cloth usually 4-5 metres and can be draped over the body in different ways. But when I came across Tanya’s blog and saw her post wearing  a saree I was inspired to go ahead and do the same. Thanks Tanya:)

I wore this saree on the festival of Karwa Chauth, where I had to fast from sunrise to moonrise for the long life of my husband:) I bought this saree from Seasons, Mumbai, India and is one of the most expensive items in my wardrobe(thanks to the heavy embroidery on it).I got it almost two and a half years back at the time of my marriage but never really got a chance to wear it.It almost weighs 5 kgs(more thanks to the heavy embroidery on it) and so I find it difficult to carry such heavy garments. But this time I took the plunge and wore it finally even though there was no one else except me and my husband to see me all decked up!!!

But the main reason why I bought it was the colour combination of red and green with golden embroidery and swarovski crystals which is my absolute favourite when it comes to traditional clothes.Anyways hope you guys liked this outfit of mine with a traditional twist.
