Things to do in Japan:Nara July 1, 2012 These pictures are from last month(I know I will never catch up!!) when we went to Nara which is the oldest capital of Japan. We went to Todai-ji Temple which has 15m high Daibutsu(giant Buddha) weighing 250 tons which is one of the largest gold leaf covered bronze statues of the buddha in the world!!It is listed as UNESCO World Heritage site.We saw Nara Deer park but actually there were not many deer in the park as all of them were on the road moving freely getting fed special deer pancakes by the tourists!!Todaiji museum and Nara National museum was ok as I am not much of a museum fan but I generally give in as hubby likes visiting them!!
