So we went to Taiwan in the last week of March..decided impromptu and just left the day after!! We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in the centre of the city with Taipei 101 (the tallest building in the world before the Burj Khalifa was constructed) just across the street. Hotel is gorgeous but old. And later we came to know that it is among the top 10 haunted hotels in the world!! It was the Japanese prison camp and execution ground during World War II. Scary isn’t it??
Our first day was not too busy. We took a morning flight from Osaka. It takes around 2 hours to Taipei, Taiwan. We reached around 12 pm, checked in and ordered room service. After that we went to the Taipei 101 shopping mall (saved the observation deck for a sunny and clear day!!) Then we went to MRT mall where I bought few things from Etude House (blog post coming soon!!), had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen at Vieshow cinemas, dropped in at Eslite which is the biggest bookshop in Taiwan and then came back to hotel for some rest and evening tea (Yeah we get tired easily!!)After chilling in the hotel for a while we went to Shilin night market (biggest night market and one of the main things to do in Taipei) where I bought an I-phone 5 cover, some gummy bears and candies and some cute quirky socks. There were a lot of food stalls there but we did not want to take chance with the street food, so came back to the hotel and ordered room service once again!! And after watching some Taiwanese TV shows finally called it a day!!

Now here are some pictures..
