ザ・ボディショップ The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter is the worst lip butter/balm I have ever come across!

Modest ones from the likes of Marks & Spencer, Nivea or even Vaseline do a better job!!

The packaging is nice, I find it cute. But that is the only positive part. I prefer a pot over a tube as it is better if it is exchanging hands. It smelt amazing of mangoes when I started using it but 15 days later it smells just like any cheap petroleum jelly!

It has a sticky smooth feel and it just does not sink in the lips, it sits on the top of my lips doing nothing. It is not very moisturizing as I need to re-apply after every 15 minutes. It is not good if you have dry and chapped lips like me in winters. My lips actually started bleeding as they were not getting moisturized enough with this product. Also it leaves white residue and flakes on the lips.

I think it is expensive at 820 Yen for a small pot of 10 ml. But then all Body Shop products are over priced if you ask me.

Oooh…. I’ve always been curious about Body Shops potted lip balms because they smell so nice. Thanks for the heads up, though. I’m not going to buy one.

Good job with the review! I agree…I do not like The Body Shop’s lip balms one single bit; they only smell good. Although most lip balms make us reliant on them (and, with constant use, our lips produce less and less of their own moisture) the only one that’s worked for me is M.A.C’s Lip Conditioner. I’ve been using it for years now and it’s super-addictive and at any given time I have 4 tubes of it around the house. I may have a problem. It’s in tube form, so at least no one’s grubby paws (including my own) are going into the mix. 😉 Let me know if you get a chance to try it!
